Jamie Singleton, Senior Director
Ms. Jamie holds a bachelor’s degree in Child & Family Sciences, specializing in early childhood education, and a Director’s Credential from the Florida Department of Children & Families. While she joined the TLP family in 2015 and was promoted to Senior Director in May 2024, Ms. Jamie began in the early childhood field in 2001 and quickly responded to her calling as a program director. In addition, Ms. Jamie demonstrates a unique understanding of the hurdles families with special needs must overcome each day as she herself is the child of a parent with disabilities. Her experiences have led her to become a steadfast advocate for early childhood environments and interventions that are supportive and inclusive. At TLP, Ms. Jamie can often be found assisting the teaching staff with curriculum implementation, coordinating spirit week and other family-focused events at TLP, assisting with the re-accreditation process, and representing TLP at community events. Ms. Jamie was born and raised in Tallahassee.
Tania Himes, Program Coordinator
Ms. Tania Himes has dedicated 20 years to the Early Childhood field, beginning her career in 2004. Since relocating to Florida from West Virginia in 2017, she has been an invaluable member of TLP. Ms. Tania holds a National CDA and an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. With four years of experience as a Child Care Center Director, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. As the Program Coordinator, Ms. Tania is passionate about serving all the families within the center. Despite her administrative responsibilities, she often finds herself in the classrooms, engaging in sensory and art activities or dancing with the children, reflecting her deep-rooted love for teaching. Outside of her professional life, Ms. Tania is a devoted mother to three girls who keep her busy with their extracurricular activities. She is happily married to her supportive husband, Ellis, who is often seen assisting with maintenance around the center. Ms. Himes’s commitment to her family and her work exemplifies her dedication and passion for Early Childhood Education.
Michelle Register, Program Coordinator
Ms. Michelle Register is a dedicated and experienced educator from Tallahassee, Florida. With 27 years in Early Childhood Education and 13 of those at The Learning Pavilion (TLP), she brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role as Program Coordinator for the Preschool Building. Ms. Michelle holds an AS degree in Early Childhood Education and is a proud graduate of the TEACH program. Her career has been marked by her enthusiasm for teaching children self-help skills and science, but she also finds fulfillment in understanding both the administrative and classroom sides, allowing her to effectively support and advocate for her fellow teachers. Ms. Michelle is a mother to two daughters.
